In 2009 we purchased a new timing system from Ipico Sports.  This new system will be the main equipment used for running events timed by JMS Racing Services.  We will continue to use the AMB system for multi-sport events.

The Ipico Sports timing system has been used at many prominent active sport events throughout the world.  Boulder Boulder 10K in Colorado, one of the largest timed running events with almost 50,000 finishers was timed in 2007 and 2008 with this equipment.  In 2008, the largest ski race in North America the Birkebeiner utilized Ipico Sports as the timing equipment of choice.  Check out http://www.ipicosports.com/ for more details on this system.

The main reason for the purchase of this equipment was to accommodate for the growing number of requests for a disposable timing chip.  With Ipico Sports timing system, any level of disposability that an event would like to use is now economically feasible.

In December of 2003 JMS RACING SERVICES announces the purchase of a new state-of-the-art chip timing system from AMB i.t.

The AMB system debuted in the USA at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games with great success.  The AMB system was developed with two goals in mind: 100% reliability and high accuracy.  This dedication to reliability can only be found in AMB’s active transponder (chip) technology.

AMB’s active transponders have internal long-life batteries that switch on and off as an athlete crosses over each start, split or finish line detection point.
