Team Awards

Team Award to the top team in each (Middle School, High School, Corporate and Open) divisions. A team will consist of three individual finishers. Team racing does not replace the Age Group or Clydesdale/Athena categories. Team members still race as individuals but they now can also be scored via cross-country style for their team. If you are not familiar with cross-country team scoring, here is how it works. If scored by hand you would go through all the results and throw out any finisher not on a team. Then you see how many there are who finished for each team. If any team has less than three finishers, they are thrown out and movement occurs again. Finally, the places of the top three finishers on each team are added up. Low score wins.

Race Free

Win your age group or one of the Clydesdale/Athena divisions in the 5K Run and also win a free entry into next year’s Marion Arts Festival 5K.  The top three overall winners, the top master winners and the 5K Walkers are not eligible to win free entries.

Free entries do not include the cost of upgrading to a moisture management technical shirt.  If wanted it will be the responsibility of the winner to pay this expense when they sign up the following year. The free entry cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be transferred to another person or another year.

Complete an entry form online to sign up for the free entry that was won the previous year. In the comments section of the online entry form add that you are an age group or Clydesdale/Athena winner from the past year. If upgrading to a moisture management technical shirt, mail in check to cover the $5 cost of the upgrade.

No Duplication of Awards

With the exception of a course record prize there will be no duplication of individual awards. The top three male and female winners, first place masters male and female winners, and the Clydesdale/Athena division are not eligible for age group awards. Team awards are separate from individual awards and can be duplicated.
