There are close to 600 people signed up for this year's Pigman. Parking will be at a premium. The parking lot next to the transition area WILL fill up. Additional parking is located just next to the beach parking in a grass field that will be mowed for our event. There will be volunteers directing you into these locations.
Parking Lot and Transition Area Closures: To alleviate some of the congestion on the main road in the park during the race we are making some changes to how freely motor vehicles connected with the event are able to move while in the park. From 7:35am to approximately 10:00am and from 10:30am to around 1:00pm only race official vehicles will have access in or out of the beach area of the park where the transition and finish line are located. During this time, the parking lot at the beach and the heliport parking lot will be closed off to any traffic. These are the two parking lots along side of and closest to the transition area. From 7:35am to approximately 10:00am and from 10:30am to around 1:00pm no vehicles will be allowed into those parking lots, but more importantly, we will not allow anyone to leave those lots during this time either.
Additionally, the transition will be closed during the same times as the parking lots. While the transition is closed, only athletes during their competition will be allowed in or out of the transition area. Once an athlete completes their competition, they will not be allowed back into the transition until it is reopened at approximately 10:00am to 10:30am and after 1:00pm.
The other parking areas in the park will remain open as usual if one needs to leave during this time. However, we ask that you and your spectators limit your travel on the roads in the park during the times listed above. There is great viewing along side of the transition area for spectators. Many set up tents and such in this grassed in area.
