Who Can Enter
Individuals:Anyone who is at least 15 years of age as of race day can enter the Pigman Triathlon. The field for the Pigman Long Course and Olympic Triathlon will be limited to 750 participants.
Elite Category
This category allows all that have a legitimate shot at winning the Pigman the opportunity of not having to race through the crowd to get to the front of the pack. Elite racers will start in the first wave(s) of the race. One of these individuals will most likely be the overall winner of the Pigman. However, Age Group or Clydesdale/Athena participants starting at a later time can end up as the winner of the race if their net time is faster than the Elite racers.
To enter as an Elite racer you must indicate your preference during the completion of the entry form while signing up for the race.
NOTE: Participants of the elite category are not eligible for age group awards and race management has the final say as to who will be allowed to enter this category.
Age Group Category
For this category, participants will race against others determined by an age. According to USA Triathlon rules, an age is determined by how old a participant is as of December 31st of the race year. Race day age is not used.
The Pigman Olympic Triathlon Age Group divisions are as follows: 15-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+
To enter as an Age Group participant you must indicate your preference during the completion of the entry form while signing up for the race.
Clydesdale/Athena Category
Instead of racing against others determined by an age, this category allows participants to compete based on their weight. If you are a man weighing 200 pounds plus or are a women weighing 145 pounds and over you qualify to race in the Clydesdale/Athena category.
To enter as a Clydesdale or Athena you must indicate your preference during the completion of the entry form while signing up for the race.
NOTE: If you meet the weight requirements of this category you are not required to enter the Pigman as a Clydesdale/Athena. The Pigman will not select the category. It is up to the individual racer to select, the Clydesdale/Athena, the Age Group or the Elite category. A Clydesdale/Athena will not be eligible for duplicate awards. There will only be one division for men and one for women.

Waiting List Policy
This policy explains the process of getting into the Pigman after the race is full. Entries received after the race is full will be combined with those currently in the Pending Entrant List and all will be considered on the waiting list. Entries from the waiting list will move to the Entrant List as cancellations are received.
To get on the waiting list after the announcement of the race being full, an entrant must complete the website entry form and mail in the waiting list payment amount within 5 business days of when the form was submitted.
To get on the waiting list if currently in the pending entrant list prior to the announcement of the race being full. The pending entrant will be notified that the race is full and given 5 business days to mail in the waiting list payment amount unless another payment was previously in the mail with a postmark date before the race was full.
To get on the waiting list if an entry was in the mail prior to the announcement of the race being full. The waiting list entrant will be notified that the race is full and nothing more is needed by that person if the postmark date for that entry is prior to the announcement of the race being full.
Checks will not be cashed until the waiting list entrant has been notified that they have been put into the race.
The order of the waiting list will be determined by when the website entry is submitted. Mail in entries will be determined by the postmark date. Special consideration will be given to those who sign up for other Pigman events during the same year. The Pending Entrant List shows the order of the waiting list.
As cancellations are received, the person at the top of the waiting list will be contacted. Their check will be cashed and they will be moved from the Pending Waiting List to the Entrant List.
Registrations will continue until 7 days before the race. At that time all remaining waiting list checks will be destroyed and no other additions will be made.
